Character Interview

From Books, Where Did They Go?, The Pottery Sale, and The Cruise.
Why don’t you start off by telling us something unique about yourself.
I am Susan Edwards. My husband died in a freak accident later ruled as murder. Just as I was getting myself together, I walked into another world of strange people. I live in a small town in Idaho and most of us know each other.
What is your favorite pastime?
Pottery, I took up making cups and dishes until the local potter was murdered.
What do you like to do to relax?
Read books, pottery, and visit with my neighbor. I do some crafts for our local church or hospital from time to time. Lately, I’ve been working with my gnome friend to rid my town of an evil witch. I wouldn’t call that relaxing, but I feel like I’m helping.
Do you like to read? If so, what’s your favorite book?
I enjoyed Deflection and Desert Shock by A. Nation.
Do you have a favorite TV show or movie?
Not really. When one of the elves popped in, I turned on Over the Rainbow. I think he liked the story.
What’s your favorite color?
Blue since I have blond hair.
What past or current events have had the most impact on your life?
My husband wrecked his car and died. Later I found out someone killed him for greed.
What are you most afraid of?
This evil witch in our mist. Touch her and you die.
If you could redo something, what would that be?
Tell my husband not to go into town and drive over the river.
What person do you have the most respect for? And why?
Trisha, my neighbor. She’s been with me after my husband died. She took care of me and understood when I told her about the strange world I taken to.
What do you value the most about a person’s character?
Their honesty, their loyalty, their willingness to help.
Where would you say your strengths lay?
Seeing people for who they are. Willingness to forgive, well some of them.
Have you thought about traveling? If so, where would like to go?
I used some of the insurance money to cruise around Hawaii. Wonderful sights to see. The ghost on board my ship was interesting until the mobster tried to use me as his shield.
What can you tell us about your story that maybe your author didn’t include?
She knows me pretty well. Maybe more about my older sister. We never could get along when we were young but after my husband died, she came around on Christmas day.
How would you describe your author?
She has a vivid imagination. An older petite woman with dark hair. I met her once on the airplane to Hawaii and again before we left. Nice person.

Author Bio:

I’m retired and love writing. I have always read books throughout my growing years and even when I continued on in college to major in Computer Information Systems. I have worked in various office locations following my husband wherever he worked. I’ve used my skills to develop designs for screen printing and embroidery I did for twenty years.
I enjoy writing realistic science fiction and urban fantasy mysteries. Because I am interested in future science, I can write about no one I know and still have fun with the characters. Although, I introduced many of my own experiences into the character’s lives. I have 13 books out and self-published through ebook companies of Draft2Digital, Smashwords, Kindle, and paperback through KDP. I have published some spiral bound blank journals through Lulu. In my weebly blog, I have several steps to help guide a new author in Word to format their manuscript.
What motivates me? A story I may read in the newspaper, political idiocy, a situation that happened in history, or just anything that I can twist the perspective around to present a parable style that mimics today’s issues. I don’t write torrid romance, but I do bring you to the edge of several. My stories are based on my knowledge of how people interact, and on the movies and books I have read, until I go into the bizarre.
In November 2015-2018 I have participated in National Writing Month what some call nanowrimo. The goal is to write 50,000 words in thirty days. I wrote the first in my UF series, “Where Did They Go?” in eleven days. I usually write and publish three novels a year with free or 99 cent short stories you can find on Amazon or on my webpage, anationauthor.com

I do have a Free monthly newsletter to let you know my progress in my next book, book sales coming up, and a free short story.
