New Year, New Goals

Hello everyone,

It’s the start of 2019 and I’ve been working on my goals for this year. While many of them are a bit personal—like losing those extra 10lbs & restarting my exercise routine—others cater more to writing and reading.
As you may have read in previous posts, I’m hoping to increase the yearly number of books I read. The previous years I set my reading challenges at 20 and 25 at the most. 2018 I up the ante at 40. I finished the year with a total of 46 books read. Some of those were short stories, but I’m excited that I went past my initial goal.
So here I am, challenging myself yet again. Yes, I’m very tough on myself. I’m my own worst critic. However, reading is one of my favorite hobbies. If not my all-time favorite thing to do—beside writing—so it won’t be much of a challenge for me at all. If anything, it’ll help me hone my writing skills.
I’m aiming for 60 books this year and to help myself stay on track, I’m created a list of books that I want to read but haven’t gotten around to them yet.

And yes, they’re all in my kindle library. To be honest, I’m not sure if I’ll get around to all of them as I have a tendency to cheat on my reading list and go for other books I didn’t include in the first place, but where’s the harm if I’m still reading, right?
A goal is a goal and I worry more about staying on track than on what I read. I like to keep my options open for this reason, which is why I decided to do something a bit different this year. I joined the Big Bad Shhlut: 2019 Reading Challenge to keep things even more interesting. Click on the link for more info.

I’m looking forward to this. With all the plans that are in motion for 2019, I don’t know how far I’ll go, but it’s going to be a heck of a lot of fun trying.

I’d love to hear what my readers are up to. Want to share what books you want to read or what your goals for the new year are, comment below.
Side note:
This year has already made good on its promise for a better start. Enchantress was selected for the cover of the month at the allauthor website. YAY! I’m super excited. It currently sits at #25 and I would love to make it to the top 10. If anyone is interested in helping boost it up to the top 10, click on the link. You don’t need to sign up for anything.
