A Dream Come True
By Lisa Hahn
Alexa Anello planned on taking over her grandma’s salon ever since she decided she wanted to be a stylist back in elementary school. What she wasn’t planning on was her rock star crush asking her out after one of his shows.
Liam Walker loves making music but hates being a celebrity. Despite the demands of his career, he’s a pretty simple guy. He likes to keep his private life out of the media as much as he can.
Will Liam be able to help make all of Alexa’s dreams come true or will he leave her feeling like his dirty little secret…
Every time I pictured myself meeting Liam—and, trust me, the scenario was in constant play during my daydreams—I did not imagine myself getting blown off.
No. I had to at least get him to turn around. To smile at me, maybe. Then I would go back to tending bar like Bill paid me to do.
I placed his drinks down on the table with a thud, hoping to draw his attention. “Great set tonight. I’ve been a fan for a while.”
After shutting the clasps on the guitar case, Liam spun around to face me. He dipped his head to the side, taking a few seconds to study me before responding. “I noticed you earlier.”
Even though my heart was beating as fast as a hummingbird’s wings, I managed to play it cool. I perched on the edge of Bill’s desk, resting my palms behind me on the cool surface. “That was me. The blonde girl working the bar.”
One corner of his mouth curled up into the panty-dropping smile he always seemed to flash during photo shoots. “From what I could tell, you weren’t doing very much work.”
Oh my god. Not only had Liam noticed me, but he’d paid close enough attention to notice I hadn’t served more than five drinks the whole time he was on stage.
I bit my lip, trying to resist the urge to giggle and squeal like a schoolgirl.
Play it cool, Alexa. Play it cool.
